”I am Steve Lingley, the coordinator for a new neighbourhood watch for Upper Benefield. The aim of the watch is share information quickly between residents to reduce the risk of crime but also to watch out for those who are most vulnerable in the village.
So far about 10% of the homes have signed up to the watch and now get early alerts of crimes and matters of interest in the area.
In the future I would like to hold a village neighbourhood watch meeting with representatives from the police in attendance.
I would like to thank all those who have responded so far and welcome more of our residents to join.
I hope to support Lower Benefield in the development of its own watch, thereby cocooning both villages.”
